Wellness is more than just a practice—it’s a way of living, a commitment to nurturing both the mind and body. For Lucy Brownless and her family, it’s also a deeply personal journey.
Born from a shared love for connection, self-discovery, and travel, Bless is a retreat designed to inspire ease, lightness, and intentional living. Rooted in the bond between a mother and daughters, Bless offers a space for reflection, renewal, and joy.
We sit down with Lucy to uncover the inspiration behind the retreat Bless, the magic of working alongside family, and the transformative experience of the retreats. Step inside their world and discover what makes Bless so special.

What was the inspiration behind creating Bless, and how did the idea come to life?

Bless was born from our desire to help women feel empowered and to prioritise filling their own cup. The name itself is a reflection of us—an abbreviation of our last name, Brownless, which came to us while sitting on a train from New York to Montauk.

What began with clothing and accessories has naturally evolved into retreats and wellness offerings, all rooted in intention and self-love. Our mission is to inspire ease and lightness, creating space for deeper connection—both with oneself and with others. At its heart, Bless is, and always will be, about connection.

What do you love most about working so closely with your mum and sister, and how does it shape the experience you create?

My mum, sister, and I have always been close, but working together every day on something we’re so passionate about is truly special.

We share a similar vision for how we want the business to grow, yet each of us brings our own unique strengths and contributions. It’s a beautiful balance that keeps things dynamic, inspiring, and ever-evolving.

When it comes to your retreats, what’s the one part of the experience that you’re always most excited about?

One of the most beautiful parts of our retreats is meeting and connecting with new people, knowing that no two retreats are ever the same—each guest experiences it in their own unique way.

What made our last retreat especially meaningful was the opportunity to collaborate with incredible facilitators I had connected with over the years. Bringing them together to share their gifts at our own retreat was truly special

Can you walk us through what a typical day at your retreat looks like, from morning rituals to evening wind-downs?

Each day on retreat is unique, offering a balance of movement, rest, and connection.

During our recent Sun Ranch retreat, we began one morning with a serene sunrise tea ceremony led by Talh from @w.th.n.u , followed by a nourishing breakfast. Mid-morning, we flowed through a yoga class before enjoying free time—whether by the pool, reading, napping, or exploring the property.

After lunch, our beautiful friend Cami from @cora.camino guided us through a cacao ceremony, weaving in gentle movement to deepen the experience. We closed the day with a deeply restorative practice before unwinding with a vintage movie night, drifting into a restful sleep.

What do you hope guests take away from their time at your retreat, both in the moment and long after they leave?

We hope our guests leave our retreats with a fresh outlook on how to fill their own cup—feeling rested, recharged, and deeply connected.

Through simple yet powerful practices, we invite them to slow down, take time for themselves, and embrace the beauty of presence.

More than anything, we hope they walk away with a deeper sense of self-love and compassion, inspired by new experiences and the space to truly reset.

When you’re not hosting a retreat, what does a typical day in your life look like, and how do you ensure you're prioritising your own well-being?

I love my morning routine—it sets the tone for my day. I start with a cup of hot lemon water in bed while doing a 10-minute meditation, whether guided or Transcendental Meditation. After that, I enjoy my coffee and move my body, whether through Pilates, yoga, or a walk on the beach.

Once home, I make breakfast and ease into my workday, which usually involves catching up on emails, planning upcoming retreats, or collaborating with brands on content partnerships.

Every day looks different, but one thing remains the same—I always prioritise filling my own cup first, so I feel grounded and supported throughout the day.
