Garment Technician & Production Coordinator
4 days per week
We are seeking a Garment Technician/Production Coordinator to join our growing team based in Byron Bay. This exciting role is for a multi-skilled individual who can combine technical, practical and creative capabilities. You will work closely with our Creative Director and Senior Designer to develop styles from concept through to sampling and bulk production, managing all aspects of the product development process.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and Senior Designer to ensure styles are developed to the highest quality and within timeline
• Manage development timelines and production calendars
• Maintain range plans and collection boards
• Create comprehensive tech packs including construction, trims, grading, and fabric details
• Organise and attend fit sessions, update tech packs, and liaise with suppliers
• Manage SMS and photoshoot samples
• Negotiate pricing to meet margin goals while ensuring quality
• Create technical drawings in Illustrator
• Research and source sustainable fabrications and trims
• Collect and apply feedback from sales team for product improvement
Skills & Experience
• 5+ years experience in a similar role
• Fashion design or technical qualification
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, specs, grading and QC (pattern making a plus)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently
• Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Excel
• Organised, efficient, and passionate about exceptional product
