Materials Considered

Our collections use natural fibers like Certified Organic Cotton and premium linen, all free from harmful chemicals and certified by STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.
We prioritise these sustainable materials, which are better for you and the planet, while also incorporating recycled and lower-impact fibers.

Explore the breakdown below to learn more about our materials.

ORGANIC COTTON
We use certified organic cotton, grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, and primarily sustained by rainwater, significantly reducing environmental impact. This cotton is soft, durable, and fully traceable through the supply chain, ensuring ethical and sustainable practices at every stage. Free from harmful chemicals, our organic cotton is safer for you and better for the planet. By supporting this material, we’re committed to creating garments that prioritize both your well-being and the health of the environment.
LINEN
Our 100% linen is crafted from the fibers of the flax plant, which is sustainably grown without the need for herbicides or pesticides. Linen is an eco-friendly material, requiring minimal water during cultivation and leaving almost no waste, as every part of the flax plant is utilized. This fabric is exceptionally durable, yet lightweight and breathable, making it ideal for warm weather. Its natural moisture-wicking and antibacterial properties further enhance its comfort and longevity, ensuring it’s as gentle on your skin as it is on the planet.

Breaking It Down

In 2023, we prioritized sustainability, with all our knitwear crafted from organic, low-impact, or recycled materials. While we used conventional cotton and polyester in our jackets due to limited alternatives, we're actively working to phase out these materials. By the end of 2024, we are committed to significantly improving our material choices and reducing our reliance on virgin synthetics.

Design Quality.

Our pieces are crafted with quality and durability at the forefront. We believe in a responsible fashion system, where timeless design and long-lasting materials are key. By choosing high-quality, preferred fibers and utilizing construction techniques that extend the life of each garment, we ensure our pieces are made to be worn longer, repaired, and re-circulated. We work closely with our makers, refining construction and fit through sampling, and conduct 100% quality checks throughout production to uphold our commitment to longevity and sustainability.

LONGEVITY
We believe that good design is honest, durable, comfortable, and sustainable. To achieve garment longevity, we embrace a "less is more" philosophy, letting simplicity speak for itself. Our pieces are thoughtfully designed in our Byron Bay studio, with many lasting over five years while retaining their integrity and timeless style. Arcaa is committed to high-quality, versatile designs that withstand passing trends, ensuring each piece remains a wardrobe staple for years to come.
TIMELESS DESIGN
With the female form in focus, we explore concepts of simplicity and uniform; creating pieces that are timeless by design. Looking to the past for inspiration and to the future of innovation, we aim to create pieces that transcend seasons and will seamlessly blend into your wardrobe to complement the rest of your style. Elevated staples form the bread and butter of what we do at Arcaa with each collection blending into the next, encouraging the wearer to breathe new life into pieces already in their wardrobe.

Arcaa is ethically manufactured in family-run, certified factories in China, where we ensure safe working conditions and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with our makers.
